(Winnipeg - March 4, 2010) Canwest Global Communications Corp (“Canwest” or the “Company”) announced today that Mr Leonard Asper has tendered his resignation as President and Chief Executive Officer and all other director and officer positions with Canwest and its subsidiaries in order to pursue other business opportunities and to avoid any concerns regarding potential conflicts of interest. Mr. Asper will continue to provide the Company with advice through a consulting agreement until such time that Canwest emerges from CCAA protection.
Court approves agreement with Shaw to invest equity in a Restructured Canwest upon emergence from creditor protection(Winnipeg - February 19, 2010) Canwest Global Communications Corp (“Canwest” or the “Company”) announced today that the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (Commercial List) (the “Court”) has granted an order (“Approval Order”) approving and authorizing the Company to enter into a Subscription Agreement with Shaw Communications Inc (“Shaw”) and the other transaction agreements relating to Shaw’s commitment to make an equity investment in a restructured Canwest (“Restructured Canwest”) upon completion of the Company’s proposed recapitalization transaction.
Canwest reaches agreement on equity investment(Winnipeg – February 12, 2010) Canwest Global Communications Corp (“Canwest” or the “Company”) announced today that it has secured an equity investment commitment from Shaw Communications Inc (“Shaw”) to invest in a restructured Canwest (“Restructured Canwest”) upon completion of the Company’s recapitalization transaction.
